Farpoint is a PlayStation VR game that was announced at Sony’s 2016 E3 press conference.

The demo of Farpoint I played let me explore an unfamiliar planet. It seems like my character is lost, and at one point there was a holographic playback of other people, so I wasn’t the first one to be where I was.

There were plenty of aliens to shoot at, and the aiming seemed on point. I didn’t see any use in aiming down my sights, but I can’t tell if that’s because of the game’s hip fire or because I was playing in virtual reality.

At one point during the demo, I was walking along a narrow cliff, and it was incredible looking down as I walked.

To pickup equipment, I had to actually reach my hands out as if I were picking up the gun, which is pretty cool. Swapping guns is as easy as bringing my hands back as if I were actually grabbing a gun. The game is very immersive, and I can honestly say this is the second game to make me absolutely hype for the PSVR (the first being RIGS).
