Game of Thrones Episode 4: Sons of Winter Review

The first 3 episodes of Game of Thrones from Telltale Games were fantastic. Does the 4th episode follow this pattern, or does it get buried in the snow?

Unlike episode 3, where I noticed a significant drop in performance and increase in graphical glitches, this time around there were almost no noticeable bugs. The cartoonish Telltale Games graphics we all know and love actually worked, which seems to be a rare occurrence with these games. Hopefully,  this means that every episode of every game Telltale releases from now on will be free of the small errors that plague their games, but only time will tell.

The Story

Just like the graphics, the story got better. There was a section, which I don’t want to spoil, that I was completely immersed in the game and completely forgot all my real life obligations. This is the first time a story in a game has done this to me in a long time, so that only means this game is ramping up to a great conclusion. With only two episodes left, I can not wait to see how things turn out for the Forresters.

The Monkey Barrel

Like I’ve said many times before, if you are a Game of Thrones fan, you need to be playing this game. It’s a great story, and it is also cannon with the books/show, so you get to go even deeper into Westeros.

+Graphical/Technical improvements

+Story momentum continues

+Winter definitely is coming
