Numbers Don’t Lie – Drake Debuts at #1 Almost Going Gold with New Album
If you’re reading this, you’re reading right.
Last week on a late Thursday night, Toronto rap artist Drake dropped a surprise on everybody via the internet. While the world expected his Views From the 6 album to release later this year, Drake released a new album/mixtape titled “If you’re reading this its too late“. The album was packed with 17 new tracks including a few previously released tracks like “Used To” featuring Lil Wayne, and 6 God.
To no surprise, Drake has taken over the #1 spot with ease. The album has sold 494,746 units falling short of going gold in it’s first week. This would usually be bad news for Drake, but considering the fact the album had no promotional push what so ever, this is pretty impressive. On the other hand, the album has been streamed over 530,000 times in total.
If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late is expected to gold in no time, with platinum status not far behind it. The Young Money rapper still has his Views From the 6 album up next. We can expect the tracks How About Now, Heat of the Moment, and more to make the album. [Source: HipHopDX]
