Rick and Morty “Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind” Episode Review

Rick Pls

There are a ton of Rick’s, our Rick is accused of mass Rick murder, and Jerry’s still an idiot. Here’s our review of the recent Rick and Morty Episode, “Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind“.

“Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind” seems to be somehere in between the “Raising Gazorpazorp” and “Rick Potion #9” episodes when it comes to the content that’s provided. Some scenes were dark and unforgiving, while others were heart warming…in a Rick and Morty kind of way (which isn’t 100% pure by any means).

Evil Rick

Rick and Morty are taken to a hub full of other Rick and Morty’s from different universes (universi…whatever). In this time, Rick is accused of murdering several Ricks, and the evidence of him traveling to the murdered Ricks universes isn’t helping his case. Rick and Morty then go on a trip to find out just where the true murderers are, and plan to put an end to the senseless violence. “Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind” has yet another jaw dropping scene, but seeing as this is common in the series, it doesn’t seem like it will cause controversy. That said, what violence is seen in this episode, is justified by some of the weaker characters.

Jerry never seems to get a break, and him being an idiot doesn’t seem like a trait that’s going away anytime soon. If there’s one thing to say about Jerry in this episode it’s that for once you kind of feel bad for the guy. He lives in a world where his father-in-law doesn’t seem to accept him no matter what he does, and for once in the series he’s accepted by him…kind of. In the end, Jerry’s happiness is put down like in previous episodes, but not without leaving some sort of impact on him.

Back to Rick and Morty’s perspective though, the ending leaves some viewers aching for more. If Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland do what they did with “Raising Gazorpazorp”, then certain characters from this new episode are sure to return in later episode. Fingers crossed for a season 2 appearance!
