Dr. Magic

Parting is such sweet sorrow, this will be our last TripTank episode review for now.

This is a semi-spoiler free review so read at your own risk!

“XXX Overload” is the eighth and final episode of TripTank. I was a little bummed when I found out that this episode is the final episode of the season; it feels like we’ve just started this trippy journey and it’s already over. This final episode featured a good amount of recurring sketches and awesome jokes. “Bethiffer” returns again, but is not as entertaining as the last time we visited this bit. Fortunately, ever other piece in this final episode is pure gold. “Jeff and Some Aliens” finally returned and it is fucking hilarious! The segment ends with a bang, literally, and I couldn’t have been more satisfied.Video Lou is a mad man and I hope to see more of his work soon!

Jeff and Some Aliens is not the only satisfying sketch from this episode. “Stump the Goog” is surprisingly funny considering it is a completely random and off the wall sketch.“Flower Teen Kill Team Go” also wrapped up a great segment and it was nice to see this bit one more time in the season finale.

Even though some of my favorite sketches returned, there are two completely new and extremely hilarious sketches that stole the entire show! The “Screwing” sketch is borderline perfect, it takes the cliche predictable sexual in the dark jokes and completely flips it. Viewers may think they get what’s going on, but this little short is packed with wittiness. “Dr. Magic” is one of the funniest sketches I’ve seen out of the entire season; it is completely perfect. If you fail to laugh during this bit, you may need to get your funny bone checked out!

TripTank has kicked ass this entire season! There were very few duds and loads of good buds laced throughout every jam packed episode! It’s a shame that Comedy Central only picked up eight episodes for the first season, but I expect them to pick up more if they choose to produce a second season (they better!). It’s been a blast TripTank, thanks for the laughs and I’ll see you on demand and hopefully on Blu-ray soon!
